PEKANBARU – The wave of student demonstrations and demonstrations that seem to never stop related to the alleged corruption in the forestry sector, Surya Dumai Group or First Resources, can be interpreted as disturbing the intellectual and idealism of students in Riau.
These conditions can escalate escalating and unstoppable as long as these two things are still disturbing the elite. This was stated by the Riau Community and Infrastructure Social Observer, HM Nasir Day Nurdin SH MH to urbannews.id, Thursday (29/9/2022).
“I see that the issue of Surya Dumai seems to disturb the intellectuals and ideals of students in Riau. Two crucial things that exist in these students are disturbed. Moreover, in front of their eyes, one case of Duta Palma and another case of Surya Dumai was shown. If we examine the situation, it is very similar and more or less the same. But they are disturbed, because one is being processed by the law while the other seems to be above the law,” said Nasir. Therefore, Nasir said, the integrity of the Head of the Riau High Court, Dr Supardi, was really being tested in Riau.

“As the former Director of Investigation of the Attorney General’s Office, who has successfully solved the Duta Palma corruption case, he is now placed as Kajati Riau. Now, in Riau, it turns out that there is an alleged scandal that is believed to be more powerful than Duta Palma, Surya Dumai alias First Resources. So, of course, his integrity and guts face great challenges while serving in Riau at this time,” said Nasir.
However, Nasir admitted that he did not have the slightest doubt about the capacity and integrity of Dr Supardi as Kajati Riau.
“We were astonished and amazed, when we just came to Riau, in front of civil servants in Riau, he had warned civil servants not to feed their children and wives with illegal money. This is extraordinary. I have rarely seen Kajati as brave and decisive as this,” said Nasir.
This also, said Nasir, raises great hope from all Riau people, especially students in Riau, so that law enforcement is truly thriving and not underestimated in Riau.
“To be honest, I have actually analyzed and pocketed data related to the alleged corruption case of the Surya Dumai Group. If indeed at this time Pak Kajati sees the need for the data I have, at any time I am ready to help support him in enforcing the law in Riau,” said Nasir.
As is known, recently, groups of students and youths have been carrying out demonstrations to protest and urge law enforcement to investigate Surya Dumai Group and its owner Marthias Fangiono and his son Ciliandra Fangiono for irregularities in licensing and business practices for oil palm plantations covering tens of thousands of hectares in Riau that have been going on for a long time. like a royal dynasty.
“It is time now is the most appropriate moment to enforce the law for the actions of the Surya Dumai Group. The state must be present and provide a sense of justice to all Indonesian people in general and Riau in particular,” concluded Nasir.(hen)
